In 2017 the Spanish tourism industry has again become the most competitive in the world, concludes the World Economic Forum in its “Tourism Competitiveness Report”. The country thus repeats the first position it won in 2015 (the report is published every two years). Our country’s ratings in terms of natural resources, culture, services and tourist infrastructures, airport and port connections, health and hygiene, security and ICT-readiness are among the highest. All these fields and segments will have specialised exhibitors at FITUR 2018.

The World Economic Forum survey measures the strength of the tourism industry in 136 countries and takes different variables into account in drafting it, from each nation’s security to the good health of its infrastructures to its technological readiness.

Tourism in Spain continues to enjoy very good health. In 2016 the country received 75.3 million travellers and is one of the three most visited countries in the world, according to the World Tourism Organisation. In this context, the upcoming staging of FITUR is again set to become the major benchmark event in the tourism industry. Added to excellent participation expectations is the broad diversity of proposals in its offering, which will turn the Trade Fair into a beacon for professionals from around the world.
