International transport (not included in the tourist package) is the main expense of inbound tourists in Spain, as shown by the latest report from the National Statistics Institute (INE). Last November accounted for 21.8% of the total expenditure, with a 6.4% increase over November 2016. Next on the list were expenditure in tourist packages and in activities, accounting for 20.1% and 18.4% of the total, respectively. The yearly rate of the former increased by 19.0%, whereas that of the latter increased by 10.4%.
The total expenditure of international tourists in Spain grew by 12.9% during the first 11 months of 2017 with respect to the same period of the previous year, reaching 82.293 billion euros.
Important players in national and international transport, including airlines such as IBERIA, PLUS ULTRA, QATAR AIRWAYS, BOLIVIANA DE AVIACIÓN or SILON AVIACIÓN, railway companies such as RENFE, which is setting new records in high‑speed rail, and maritime transport companies such as GRIMALDI LINES, will be attending FITUR.
